Who We Are

The Kimberley Alpine Discovery Camp draws from resources and expertise throughout the region to offer an exceptional, authentic experience.

Camp Director

Uncle BobOur Camp Director is Randy McLeod. “Uncle Bob”, as he is also known, is a high energy learning enthusiast, passionate about being outside, keen for adventure and having fun.

A lifelong learner and educator, Randy spent much of his professional career teaching high school math and coaching basketball in the Regina school system, where he was a recipient of the Prime Minister’s award for teaching excellence (2010-11).

More recently Uncle Bob has worked as an Education and Events Coordinator with the Canadian Wildlife Foundation and continues to be involved in arts, culture and nature-based groups in Kimberley where he makes his fulltime home.

Uncle Bob is supported by a strong group of trained councillors, as well as expertise from the Kimberley Community Development Society (KCDS) and College of the Rockies Tourism and Recreation management program.

The Kimberley Community Development Society

The KCDS is a community-based non-profit society that develops and operates cultural, historic, and recreational assets for the benefit of visitors and the community. We operate the Kimberley Conference Centre, the Kimberley Riverside Campground, and Cominco Gardens and we want to offer you a unique summer camp experience that makes the most of everything Kimberley has.

College of the Rockies

College of the Rockies (COTR) is a leader in supporting BC’s tourism industry with high quality graduates. We have partnered with COTR to develop curriculum, risk management, and top quality councillors who have been instructed by trained and credentialed faculty.
